Barry Paul Clark (he/him) is a classically trained bassist, composer, improviser, electronic musician and educator. His music can be heard as a part of the performance projects Tontine Ensemble, adoptahighway, Argopelter, Lady Cannon, Field Report, and the Tony Catania Trio. He performs in many of the regional symphony orchestras across southeastern Wisconsin and frequently collaborates in interdisciplinary performance with many of Milwaukee’s top dance/movement organizations. He co-curates the monthly improvised performance series Unrehearsed MKE, founded in 2013. He has composed original music for the films "Seeking Century City" (2017 short, directed by Wes Tank & Adam Carr) and "Plucked" (Official Selection 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, Good Credit Productions) as well as performance and string arrangement, under the direction of electronic musician Lorn, for the Playstation 4 console video game “Killzone Shadow Fall.” Outside of his musical contributions to film and video games, Barry also experiments with filmmaking projects of his own, as director, camera, editor and composer for short film and music video works. "Bid Hope Farewell" is an a/v project created by Barry Paul Clark for the DePaul University Humanities Center event "Horror of the Humanities IX: Dante's Inferno" which took place on October 28th, 2021.
This virtual event was an interactive online gathering that featured works and contributions from dozens of curated participants, drawing inspiration from Dante Alighieri's epic poem The Inferno.
"Bid Hope Farewell" features Milwaukee, WI based multidisciplinary musician Caley Conway as the roles of both Virgil and The Damned. The film was directed, edited, and features musical compositions by Barry Paul Clark. Filming locations include the farm at the Greenbush Growing Cooperating in Plymouth, WI, and various locations throughout Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.
