I'm Bez August, a self-taught filmmaker, director, and editor from Cape Town, South Africa. My passion for storytelling and creating captivating visuals has driven my successful career in the film industry. I started with shooting films on my phone and eventually founded my own production company.
Over the years, I've gained diverse experience in producing music videos, brand campaigns, commercials, and my own short films. I'm known for my innovative approach to storytelling, exploring real-life experiences and controversial topics with heartfelt moments.
My latest project, "Isolate," focuses on toxic masculinity. Through compelling visuals and poignant storytelling, the film delves into the destructive effects of toxic masculinity on individuals and society as a whole.
Despite not having formal education in film, my self-motivated approach has led me to success in the industry. My passion for cinematography and visual storytelling drives my work, which often explores themes of real-life experiences, controversial topics, and heartfelt moments.
In addition to my work as a filmmaker, I'm committed to using my platform to support and uplift emerging artists from underrepresented communities. I'm passionate about creating inclusive and diverse stories that challenge the status quo and inspire audiences worldwide.
With each project, I strive to push the boundaries of visual storytelling and create cinematic experiences that resonate with audiences.
