Beyond a rainy day

The film, set in the present day, tells the story of a journey between a grandmother and her grandson to a retirement home. His nephew, Andrea, is an aspiring actor who has fallen into drug addiction and gambling due to the social environment he frequents and his weaknesses. The grandmother, Giovanna, after losing her husband in a car accident, discovers that she has Parkinson's disease and does not speak to her children, who decide to have her admitted to a retirement home because they don't want her to go and live with them and they have no intention of wasting their lives caring for their mother. The woman will do everything to oppose her children's choice, but in the end she will give in to their wishes and it will be Andrea, kept in the dark about Giovanna's illness, who will have to make this journey to the sheltered home. On this journey the woman wants to live her last days of freedom and she will make her nephew understand the importance of family, talking about love, happiness, the meaning of life, money and how bad loneliness is. After this trip, Andrea, having discovered his grandmother's illness, will be faced with a choice, whether to give up his acting career and his vices to live with her and take care of her, or to let her die in the retirement home and continue with her life.
