Solidarity Beyond The Longest Border
Izmir, which has grown through migration from different geographies around it throughout its history, now includes 150,000 Syrian refugees fleeing the war that began in Syria in 2011. The struggle for survival of the Syrian refugees in urban life is accompanied not only by their experiences of exclusion but also by their unique solidarity relations with the people of Izmir. Solidarity Beyond the Longest Border, offers a cross-section of these solidarity practices and offers a walk through against xenophobia.
