Beyond
Leon has been diagnosed with leukemia. While Leon is dealing with the situation with exceptionally peaceful acceptance, his sister Mia tries her best to hide her pain and despair from her younger brother and does whatever it takes to make her brother happy in this difficult time.
Leon's illness reached a stage, where only a day outside the usual four walls is a great gift. The day the film depicts is one of them. Leon seems surprisingly vital after days of not being able to leave the house. Mia uses this opportunity to make some memories.
The short film invites on a journey of joy and pain, fun and grief. A little but big adventure giving insight into the cohesion of a loving family in difficult times.

Mira is grew up in Berlin and even though you would think it'd be best to stay there for film studies, she moved to Austria to study filmmaking there while being able to enjoy mountain sports. She just finished her Bachelor in MultiMediaArt, having focused her studies primarily on directing.
Too often the small, seemingly unimportant moments are left unnoticed and the joyful times or painful seasons we experience with the people around us are quenched all too fast by our next experience or things that seem more important. Never-ending to-do lists, world events or simply everyday chores keep us from reflecting on all those little but precious divine encounters. I want to use the magic of filmmaking to grab on to exactly those: the laughter, the tears, dramatic, painful and carefree emotions, that are invariably attendant, whenever people engage.
