Beyond Horizons
Searching for the independence of adulthood, the young girl Alex discovers a miniature model town possessing sinister powers. A new reality presents itself. Can Alex escape or will she be forever trapped amongst the featureless faces of the town’s plastic people?
Beyond Horizons is a visually striking tale of magical realism that will lure the viewer into an experience of childhood wonder, mystery and horror.

Stefan is a film director who doesn’t shy away from producing his own films. While growing up in the vibrant city of Frankfurt, he cut his teeth at an early age in the era of VHS.
After gaining his first professional work experiences in TV, he then moved on to feature films. On set he worked alongside actors such as Noomi Rapace and Danny Huston, and had the opportunity to learn from directors such as Eran Riklis (The Syrian Bride) and Cinematographer Rainer Klausmann (Downfall).
From this foundation, Stefan progressed on to producing his own short films, and would go on to complete his Undergraduate degree in Film Studies and Philosophy at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Not stopping there, Stefan relocated to Leeds, UK to complete a postgraduate degree in Filmmaking at the Northern Film school, culminating in his directing of Beyond Horizons.
Beyond Horizons is an inspiring story about mysteries and adventure that consumes everyone’s childhood. Fairy tales are often part of one’s reality standing in front of you as clear as the teacher with their demand for homework. These stories are not less real than everything else during that time. These stories attract us as they lure into another world, they show us another perspective and widen our horizon. Children need fairy tales and adults as well. Adults just search for it in the wonders of their “real” world. Very interesting on Beyond Horizons is also its metaphorical subtext on religion revealed to an older audience. The twist, in the end, invites the experienced viewer to further thoughts.
