Director Biography - Xavier Ameller

Xavier Ameller began by making a short film trilogy on invisible worlds and magical thought: « Ce que j’ai vu (What I saw) », « Comme une fée (Like a fairy) » and « À l’ombre (In the shade) », awarded at the festivals of Digne, Contis and Lorquin. These films already realistically portrayed an individual in the throes of visions. Julien Pichard and Jérôme Gallioz subsequently produced his last short film « Déserteur («Deserter) » in 2013 on a woman in the midst of a "burn out" crisis who flees from society to get lost in the woods. These productions were presented at the Pompidou Center, at the Sao Paulo Biennale and at the Rotterdam Festival.
