Director Statement

In my work, I try to explore human beings at their most vulnerable moments in a very
intimate way. I tend to add elements of different genres to my stories, like thriller and horror because I believe we are the most vulnerable when we are in fear.

I’m always attracted to creating high-concept stories, from a conventional thriller of a guy
getting kidnapped, all the way to a man escaping from a space disaster. I like big-scope stories but always have characters as a priority, stories that are intimate in their heart.

When writing and directing my stories, I am inclined to create characters with a lot of suffering
and pain to them, challenging the definition of what it means to be the hero in the story. Exploring their desires and fears and showing the audience that there is no hero or villain because the world is not just simply black and white.

Ultimately I strive to create movies about fears no matter the genre which is being portrayed. I believe through fear we can understand and get to know a person more clearly.
