"Between Them" it's a story about a single mother, Maria, who is at a stage of her life where she's exhausted. Faced with his lack of connection with his son, Gonçalo, the drive home-school is marked by silence. This short film underscores the pressure of a
mother who doesn't have any connection with his son, where the tension between the two is felt from beginning to end.

Director Biography - João Lopes

João Lopes, was born in 1997 in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
He took a professional multimedia course at the Escola Artística e Profissional Árvore.
He has a degree in Sound and Image from the Catholic University of Porto.
He is currently completing a Master's in Cinema at Middlesex University in London.
