Beltrão Plant, Tacaruna Factory: history of a pioneer enterprise.
Based on the book by historian Limério Moreira da Rocha - "Usina Beltrão and Fábrica Tacaruna: Historia de um empreendimento pioneiro", the documentary presents the trajectory of this old industrial complex that opened at the end of the 19th century on the border between Olinda and Recife. Planned to be the main sugar refinery in the state, several conflicts of interest changed the course of the Beltrão Plant, which belonged to Colonel Delmiro Gouveia, and was adapted for weaving in the early 20th century.
Political conflicts, economic crises and the permanent control of the "old oligarchies", elements that prevail until today in the destiny of this historical-cultural heritage.
