Experiencing Interruptions?

Below – an underground NYC story

I spent the summer of ‘19 in NYC, and I wanted to capture the two New Yorks I was seeing – the exciting, glamorous, “city that never sleeps” New York, and the monotonous, commuter-centered, working-class New York. I noticed that there was a particular privilege associated with altitude, hence the title.

(I also love trains if you couldn’t tell by this film.)

Shot in 4k on iPhone XR using Filmic Pro + Zhiyun Smooth 4 Gimbal. Edited with Premiere and After Effects.

Director Biography - Raaghav Minocha

Raaghav Minocha is a filmmaker from California in his 4th year at UC Berkeley. He is currently spending his fall semester studying cinema at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and standing with the people of Hong Kong as they fight for their freedom.

He wants to tell stories that recall emotions more difficult to express, through both narrative and documentary styles, and plans to use his directorial vision and editing ability to craft them.

Besides film, he loves listening to hip-hop, jazz, soul, r&b (and every combination of those few), being completely horizontal on grass when the sun is out, and climbing trees and rocks.
