Belanda

An de Boer moves with her three children, Jaap, Britt and Luc to Indonesia in 1946. Her husband, Luc, already lives in Indonesia. He works for the Shell on the oil refinery Pladju, close to Palembang, Sumatra. The three children grow up in the compound full of luxury, fun, parties and events. They barely notice the tensions from the war of independence. Until 1957 when all the Dutch people are declared to be a danger to the state and life takes a turn for the worst. The family needs to leave Indonesia for their own safety and they return to The Netherlands. Where they have to build a new life all over again.
