Walter Uliano Pistelli (1974, Italy) is a film director and video editing professor. He has a masters degree in Electronic Engineering.
He has been working in filmmaking since 2003, when he directed his first short film and collaborated in the making of documentaries. He worked for some years as an assistant director on movies and as a camera operator on television programs. After spending some years living in South America, he returned to Italy, where he worked as an art director of cultural events and directed some commercials. Since 2011 he is an editing professor at the “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern” film school of Bologna (Italy). In 2019 has been Tutor and juryman at the workshop 'Bolivia Lab' (Santa Cruz, Bolivia). 'Sons of the Revolution' and 'Being Revolutionary' are the two parts in which the project 'Che Guevara in the 21st century' is divided, and they are his first documentary feature films.
This documentary presents a reflection on the relationship between personal values and universal ideals, and on the ethical and current meaning of being revolutionary. The ethical and cultural legacy of the Che Guevara's military defeat in Bolivia suggests the need to reconsider in a global way the impact that official history attributes to this mission.
