Behind the Welcome
This short film is scripted based on HIV AIDS. It revolves around, a veteran artist, his wife and their son, Sithum.
One day Sithum’s mother gets pricked by an unknown person inside a cinema with a needle filled with blood and a slip of paper pasted on the syringe saying, ‘Welcome to HIV’. Due to this incident, their family life gradually collapses and Sithum’s father leaves the house. But, Sithum completes his studies and becomes a Doctor.
A few years later, Sithum’s mother dies due to AIDS and Sithum spends a solitary life until he unexpectedly meets his father.
Thereafter, they spend time together at home, till his father dies being demented after falling ill because of aging and excessive smoking.
