Behind the Site - SFO Hotel
Behind the Site is inspired by the term, “Behind the Scenes,” as it dives into a construction site at the San Francisco International Airport; allowing viewers to gain a sense of the harmonious chaos present at the jobsite. More importantly, the series recognizes the craft and motivation of the proud tradesmen and tradeswomen that transform the vision of engineers and architects into a reality by the sweat and hands of their labor.

Hamza Shallwani was born and raised in Islamabad, Pakistan, which he fondly calls his home. It is where he developed his values for family, friendship and hard-work. At the age of eleven, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina with his family. The drastic change in language, culture, people, and food was fascinating to Hamza. He spent the next seven years of his life in Buenos Aires, studying at an international school. Buenos Aires quickly became his second home, as his passion for the sciences, film, and soccer began to mold. Graduating high school with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in addition to four Outstanding Class Awards for his leadership, the next chapter in his life was set for the United States.
At the age of 22, Hamza graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UC Davis. Currently living in San Francisco as a Project Engineer for a construction firm, there has not been a better time for him to release his first short documentary, a goal he has set his mind on for many years.
The process of creating my first short documentary has been inspiring, ever-changing, and thrilling. It is incredibly exciting for me to release my first short doc and be a step closer to achieving one of my dreams; winning an award at a film festival.
