“Before I Forget” was a journey that challenged me to change and grow as a person. For many years, I refused to take and be in photos, leaving the most formative periods of my teen-life poorly documented. Even with what I have from my parents at the time, I've more significantly left that period of time undocumented by me, from my lens. I knew coming into my final year at UCF that things had to change if I wanted to be a filmmaker. I also wanted to show my friends and family that I was willing to grow for them, as my negative self-image has affected them as well. I’m grateful for the experience I had making this film, and I hope showing it to people will help them to reflect on their own relationships with the camera.
