Before Cross Over

Claire, an ambitious and determined woman, is on the trail of a murky murder case when the body of a young woman is found on the riverbank at the edge of town. Arriving on the scene, she encounters strange details: a mysterious monogrammed knife, a witness who is a mysterious man. Eddie, who becomes increasingly suspicious with his strange behaviour. Luke, a photojournalist who moves with unusual confidence in the world of mystery, joins Claire in trying to unravel the case. Claire doesn't understand why, but all the clues lead to William, who has put her in charge of the case.
Eddie, initially thought to be a witness, eventually confesses to the murder. But for Claire, something doesn't add up: why does Eddie want to meet William? After Eddie's outburst of rage and Luke's ruthless condemnation, Claire is confronted with the realisation that Luke is not just a helper, but a collector of the sinners of the world in transition.
The most dramatic moment in the story comes when William appears to reveal the ultimate truth to Claire: she is not only on the trail of murder, but trying to unravel the circumstances of her own death. The knife she found as a clue is actually hers. Eddie, who in his anger harmed her, only took her life by accident. Claire faces her own fate and, with William's help, takes the final step.

I use the pen name Emy Dust. I have loved literature since childhood. I published my first book almost 10 years ago, and so far I have 15 books in Hungarian and one in English. The translation of my other books is currently in progress. In addition to writing novels, I also work as a screenwriter. One of my completed short stories won a screenwriting competition in Hungary and was made into a short film. I write in various genres, including romance, drama, dark romance, fantasy and crime. I like to keep my readers in suspense with lots of twists and turns.

I am currently planning several new projects. My goal is to continue to delight readers with diverse and exciting stories, while continuing to grow as a writer. I also aspire to enter the film industry. I have a deep love of film, the process of making a film and seeing the end result after all the hard work. My biggest dream is to have one of my books made into a film. Every day I strive to get closer to realising this dream.

My short films Messy Valentine and Regular wednesday have won several awards at festivals.

The work was primarily created for entertainment, but it also highlights that not everyone is what they seem. Additionally, an old friendship can transform when one is forced to survive. There are many instances where we discard a friend due to our own selfishness and greed.

I first created the work in sketches, then built the dialogues based on the sketches, assigning roles appropriate to the characters. Finally, I added extra twists to make it more exciting and mysterious. In the end, I refined the small details to ensure the work was complete and to eliminate any errors as much as possible.

I love creating, and I enjoy entertaining readers and audiences. What inspires me most when creating a piece are the feedback and reactions I receive. I always try to put myself in the audience's shoes. If I sense what they might expect, I like to give them the opposite to surprise them. It usually works.

This story is recommended for all adults, and hopefully, everyone will find a little piece in it from which they can draw their own conclusions.
