BEER FOOD FILM FESTIVAL
Cincinnatians LOVE their beer, food and films. The Beer Food Film Festival (BFF Festival) is a celebration of all three.

Beer Food Film Festival is 1 day festival featuring the artistry of independent film-making through inspiring and extraordinary short films, and the very best of independent craft beer and food the region has to offer.

Our goal is to bring Cincinnati film lovers the very best of short silent films with the topics of beer and/or food, horror, romance, comedy, animation and documentary from around the globe. This year, 2014, is the inaugural year for the Beer Food Film Festival in Over-the-Rhine (OTR), Cincinnati, Ohio. October 25, 2014.

All of the proceeds support the Midland Film Institute.

SUBMISSIONS
The nonrefundable entry fee must be payable in US dollars to Midland Film Institute. Entries must be POSTMARKED by the deadline. Submission costs vary depending on discounts, such as early- bird due date. When submitting to the festival you are agreeing that if chosen to screen during the dates of the festival, Beer Food Film Festival will not pay any additional screening fees presented by the submitter. The only acceptation would be if it is agreed upon prior to a certain films submission.

ENTRY REGULATIONS
The Beer Food Film Festival is a competitive showcase for domestic and international silent and black/white shorts (5 minutes to 15 minutes). Think back to the origins of film. The story lines were simple, fun, entertaining, and SILENT! Dialog, simple one or two lines, is presented on black and white tiles. In addition to public screenings, the films will be viewed in participating bars and restaurants during the festival.
The Beer Food Film Festival Committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project submitted. All films must be Beer Food Film Festival Premieres. This means NO theatrical, cable, television, DVD, VHS, or internet screenings or availability of any kind in the Cincinnati, OH region prior to the BFF Festival 2014 dates (October 25, 2014). Only works submitted in 2014 are eligible for selection. There is no limit to the number of entries.

Each winner's prize is valued at $100. Hey remember folks - this is our first year!

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Films must not exceed 15 minutes in length, including credits.
2. All non-English language films must have English subtitles or no dialogue.
3. A separate entry fee is required for each submission.
4. Preview DVDs must be labeled with the title, running time and contact information.
5. Preview DVDs will not be returned.
6. Submissions may NOT be withdrawn from the Festival once they have been entered, except at the sole discretion of the Festival.
7. All selected films may be excerpted (up to 2 minutes) for publicity purposes.
8. After selection, notification letters will be sent electronically: all acceptance letters will be accompanied by a telephone call: please provide an email address, and telephone number.
9. Do not send DVDs via special delivery such as Fed Ex. Only regular U.S. mail please.

INTERNATIONAL ENTRIES
All foreign language entries must have English subtitles. Projects must be submitted for consideration on DVD or as an online screener. PAL format will not be accepted. Screening material, press and any application materials sent to Beer Food Film Festival will NOT be returned. If you did not receive a confirmation of submission, please email beerfoodfilmfestival@gmail.com. All submissions must be available in DVD for festival presentation.

ENTRY DEADLINES
All film submissions must be shipped prepaid and packed in proper containers to arrive at the Beer Food Film Festival office postmarked no later than their respective deadlines:

Early Bird Deadline by July 25, 2014 -$15 fee
Regular Deadline by August 8, 2014 - $ 20 fee
Late Deadline by August 15, 2014 - $30 fee

COMPETITION
The Beer Food Film Film Festival is a competitive event and unless notified otherwise, all films officially selected are included and eligible for competition. All films are nominated and voted upon by an impartial jury of filmmakers, industry professionals, Festival programmers and aficionados.

PRESS MATERIALS
If selected, the Beer Food Film Festival will require an electronic press kit to include production stills, bio and filmography of the director, production notes and full cast and crew credits.

LIABILITY
Although every possible care will be taken with tapes and films while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Do not send original prints or tapes. Please keep the Beer Food Film Festival notified of any address/phone number changes.
You agree to indemnify us and hold us, our employees, owners, affiliates, and partners harmless from all claims and liability associated with your participation or entry to the Beer Food Film Festival.

SHIPPING
The cost of shipping all entries and films to the festival must be paid by the entrant. The Beer Food Film Festival will not pay the cost of shipping the DVD back to the filmmaker. Beer Food Film Festival will not be responsible for expedited or overnight shipping charges to other organizations. Also, Beer Food Film Festival cannot guarantee shipment of prints to other festivals during the days of the festival. All international entries must be sent 'free domicile' to the Beer Food Film Festival office with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper.

REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT
Submission of an entry gives the Beer Food Film Festival permission to have accepted work shown in all promotional mediums relevant to the festival.

NOTIFICATION
Films selected for the Beer Food Film Festival will be notified no later than September 5, 2014.

Your film will be watched and taken under careful consideration. In many cases films are watched by several people and if your film makes it to the final programming phase it will be watched by a screening committee.
We expect have a successful festival. We welcome and encourage filmmakers to attend the festival and would for sure do a Q&A with you.
