Experiencing Interruptions?

Becoming

A spirit wakes up in a dollhouse incarnating a doll body. Its will makes it create living conditions for itself and other ways of life in spite of a constant feeling of resistance. In the meanwhile it notices the changes are not produce by it alone and that everything that changes also dies. When it realizes this, finally gives way to become what it considered alien to its nature: a fire that sweeps everything away.

Director Biography - Judas Betancourt, Gabriel Marin

Judas Betancourt is a non-binary Venezuelan poet, researcher, and multidisciplinary artist. His work consists of experimenting mainly with words, voice, and electronic sounds to generate imaginary universes that question identity, family, and the spaces to which he belongs. He combines the traditions of his culture and symbols imposed by the colony to produce heterogeneous universes. In 2021 he was selected in N/N writing and cinema Program from Acéfala Galery to develop a feature screenplay. Becoming is his first co-written and co-directed short film.
