Liam Rushmer - Founder and Trainer at Fitness Rush Gym. Through filming exercise tutorials for members and clients, video production became a favourite pastime of Liam. He has now found a way to combine his two passions of fitness and film-making through visual media and expresses his wild imagination through the lens.
My first film "Beat Depression with Exercise" depicts the battles of everyday life and how fitness can fight depression through the release of happy chemicals in the body and in this case "add colour".
The film follows a down on his luck guy, who is faced with everyday challenges which eventually becomes too much and he finds himself escaping to an isolated path of desperation.
The only thing he has going for him is the gym, where he can be himself and the only challenge he faces is the weights in front of him.
He then leaves the gym regenerated and ready to take on what life throws at him.
After finding hope through fitness myself and turning my life around, to be able to help others in their time of need is not only a dream come true but a privilege and if one person can change their life through what I have created, then every second of filming is worthwhile.
