Alouette Hill b.1990 is a UK-based artist working with a range of media, from painting to video. She has a background in Fine Art and is a graduate from both Goldsmiths and the RCA in London.
Recurring themes in the artists work include the interrogation of cultural value, and a utilisation of and reference to popular vernacular visual languages. The incongruous phenomena that emerge from her practice are rooted strongly in this world, and in a completely alternative one of the artist’s creation. Her works own their ‘Wrongness’ and exist in a state that is immune to the self-scrutiny of our times. Because of this, she is able to hold a space where life-force can remain undiluted and resistant to erosion.
