Harry Wang grew up in the coastal city of Dalian, China, and left home at 18 to pursue his studies in Guangdong. He is currently a full-time undergraduate student in the Film and Television Department at Hong Kong Baptist University. During his time on set, he has taken on various roles, including cinematographer, gaffer, and sound designer. Harry is also passionate about music and has played as a keyboardist and guitarist in five different original bands during his college years. Additionally, he composes music for his own films as well as for his classmates’ projects. He enjoys the gradual build-up of emotion and excels at conveying delicate feelings through his work. In April 2024, he completed his first short film, Be My Love, and is currently preparing for his next project.
Everyone harbors emotions that are difficult to express for various reasons. These emotions arise easily, but expressing them is often challenging. However, whether to express them or how to do so is ultimately about staying true to oneself. This film is a love story centered on the theme of “unspoken love.” It tells the tale of discovering love, expressing it, and facing it. The protagonist, Yun, is shy but manages to write deeply heartfelt love letters. Where does the inspiration for these letters come from? By the end of the story, I hope the audience will have their own interpretation of whether Yun truly faced her emotions. The film builds emotion gradually, and as the characters reflect, I hope the audience will also reflect on their own emotions—perhaps it’s time to face them as well.
