Synopsis
"Basement Shoes" chronicles a personal rise as a calculated and efficient designer, "Basement Shoes" video documentary, comments on the magical phenomena faced of cut up garments, re-appearing garments, as a buyer that should not have to buy what had already been bought. On paydays where things should not disappear. Not to be framed, from a factitious proxy disorder from some uninspired phenomenological magical and fake acquisition scheme, in a personal space not disrupted by zoom meetings or Covid 19; not framed from the perspective of psuedo-competition with corporate deep pockets. I posit document after to document to show that I was discovered at 18 years old, people know who I am and that I should be involved 100% in my career. Fragments intercut home video with luxury design and pattern and print making allude to work having been used at major brands for many years and that what's deserved would be equity -- knowing that information is key in a culture where people believe all things can be bought with a 'fake it till you make it" mentality. By the end I must express my wants to move past all the ugly and cheap to find my brand in my own space thats impenetrable and undefeatable prestige luxury.
