Bars and Tone Chapter Bridge
Walking across the bridge, I often think of what happened in the year 2014 and 2019, two very important years for my generation of Hong Kongers.
“Bars and tone” is a tool for calibration and adjustment. Looking at that bridge in 2022, I feel like my city has been calibrated.

Hong Konger, works in film and video production.
This bridge is at East Kowloon, the area where I live and work. I often pass by skating.
In 2014, there was a secret (and illegal) party on the bridge.
In 2019, there was an open (and illegal) parade under the bridge.
Without amazing numbers nor staggering effects, what happened on this bridge will eventually be forgotten, no matter how history ends.
But I still cannot forget that day.
The pavement along the bridge is rough and hard to skate. I always think it would be cool if I can skate on the highway under the bridge.
August 24, 2019 was my only chance. I wonder why I was with my camera but not my skateboard.
