Director Biography - Ferin Kidd

Ferin Kidd is the director of "Bang4Change," a guerilla-style documentary that highlights the dangers and complexities of the protests following the murder of George Floyd.

The documentary takes place in Minneapolis, where Ferin flew to immediately after the incident occurred. He cashed out the last $400 he had to buy a one-way ticket to the city. He had no game plan, no strategy, just his camera, and the perseverance to document the unfolding protests on the ground.

Kidd wasn't always on this correct path. Lost at age 20, homeless and desperate for money, he was involved in a liquor store robbery. He was arrested and sent to prison for the next 10 years of his life. But, he knew that entrepreneurship was the way to go once released from prison, a changed man with $200. He then used that money to start his corporation, Black OC.

In 2020, Ferin Kidd was at the top of the list of the most influential people in Orange County.

Ferin hopes to impact many lives and influence the younger generation. His vision is to lead the underprivileged youth at risk of violence and poverty to avoid making the same mistakes as him and choose a better path for their future.
