In Turin (Italy) in the years from 1900 to 1914, the movie production was growing. In 1914, Giovanni Pastrone, ended the first colossal "Cabiria". This short film is freely inspired to that period.
THE STORY
"An old camera, found in a trunk, will take you back to 1914, in Turin. The meeting between Ernesto, an aspiring photographer and Olivia, daughter of a film producer, will be the beginning of an exhilarating adventure. "Balon" with cream: a tribute to the movie world of the early 20th century

Director Biography - Enrico Mondino, Waldemara Lentini

Enrico Mondino is an Italian actor, screenwriter and director, and also a singer.
He attended a theatre school in Turin and played several roles in theatre productions. Then he completed his training with a member from New York Actors Studio. In 2014 he attended a film course with Louis Nero, an Italian director.
This is his second work as a director. In 2014 he made, with his wife Waldemara Lentini, a documentary titled "Walking by the river". It's about the four rivers that flows in Turin.
Waldemara Lentini is an actress, presenter, screenwriter and assistant director, began his artistic career as a figuration in some productions RAI and Mediaset.
In 2014 he specialized in film acting with Danny Lemmo, a member of the Actors Studio in New York and takes part in several short films as the protagonist.
In the same year he won the audience award at the competition Up2U organized by LaStampa newspaper of Turin, with the monologue "I never complain" of which she is the author, which has as its theme the world of work, and participate in the competition "Actors Doc Asti - award Vannucchi "coming in the semifinals.
Between 2013 and 2014 with Enrico Mondino creates the documentary "Walking by the river", the competition Rivereyes Turin.

Director Statement

Balloon with cream, was born during the "100 hours Torino", unpublished shorts film competition.
This year the theme was 100 years after “Cabiria”, that is a tribute to the Turin Film 100 years ago, when Giovanni Pastrone made his colossal "Cabiria".
With this inspiration to the silent film and black and white, born the idea for the short film. I decided with Waldemara, my wife, to develop a story inspired by the movie world of the early 20th century.
"Balon" is an area of Turin, a place where takes place a big market with a panoramic balloon. This location gives rise to the name of the short.
