What is colonisation today? Are we colonised? How do we decolonize? Why is decolonization important in social movement struggles? What is privilege? How does tourism affect local communities? What does it mean to live as a minority? How do we deconstruct gender? Are the cities we live in ours?
The Balkan Can Kino Film Symposium returns for the fifth time, taking place in Athens, Greece from 19th to 26th of November, 2022, and focuses on the theme "DECOLONISE". We search films of any genre or length, as long as they are related to the symposium's theme.

#5BCKFS, through a series of screenings of short and feature films, video installations, discussions and workshops, presents new and innovative audiovisual works and invites the audience to raise questions about their own identity.
#5BCKFS is organised by the mobile and pop-up film festival Balkan Can Kino (BCK) & FLP Athens Civil Non Profit, in collaboration with artistic and social institutions, organisations and creators, under the auspices and with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports. #5BCKFS takes place in different locations, spaces and galleries in Athens and all events are free of charge for the public. Find out more about BCK at: www.balkan-can-kino.com

#5BCKFS does not offer awards or prizes.
