Balkan Can Kino accepts entries for its 2021 Film Festival and looks for films that showcase diverse themes, with unique approaches to the audiovisual arts, including documentary, narrative, experimental, animation films and video art of any length, language or origin, promoting innovative DIY cinema, with a focus mainly on female, queer and first-time directors, and socio-political driven movies.
#BCKFF_21 runs on a monthly basis, with special screenings, labs and events that take place in art spaces in Athens, while also travelling inside and outside of Greece with curated programmes, following Q&A’s, labs and round tables, when it is possible.
Balkan Can Kino was founded in 2017 in Athens and so far has screened more than 300 films in various locations and has collaborated so far with Woche der Kritik (Berlin, Germany), 2 Sides Short Film Festival (Izmir, Turkey), Thessaloniki Queer Arts Festival (Greece), and many more, creating a solidarity network among filmmakers, organisations and institutions that are active at local and international level.

For this purpose, we recommend that projects must be fully entered on FilmFreeway, including film stills, production pictures, downloadable poster, and trailer or teaser.
