Bajo la Luz del Silencio

I follow one by one
the stars in the skies
between red and yellow
under the light of silence.

On such a cold night
dark as velvet
they gave us as a mantilla
blood, pain, and torment.
Blood, pain, and torment.

Her mouth crashed against mine
giving me a kiss.
A farewell kiss.
A kiss of death, a kiss.
A kiss of death, a kiss.

Artist Biography

Since Ambulancia Irlandesa was born in Granada back in 1997, there have been many influences and experiences, all reflected in our way of understanding music. From the purest and most traditional Celtic sounds of the beginnings to the eclecticism of the latest recordings, our compositions have embraced all the music that has moved us (folk, Celtic, jazz, flamenco, country, Eastern European music, Arabic music, etc.). While maintaining a core formation, numerous members have passed through Ambulancia Irlandesa over time, contributing their particular vision of music and thus enriching the group's musical heritage. In these more than 25 years of constant work and evolution, we have made five album recordings: Ambulancia Irlandesa, 2000; Badulaque Zoo, 2002; El Carnaval de los gatos, 2005; Paradoja Cotidiana, 2012 and ENVERO, 2015, as well as several singles (such as SONES DE ÁNIMO 2020, BAJO LA LUZ DEL SILENCIO 2023 and MEDITERRANEO 2024), all with the group's own compositions (except for very rare exceptions). Furthermore, our tireless stage activity has taken us throughout the national territory and to participate in the country's main festivals:
• 27th International Session of the EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT.
• 1ST ANNUAL IRISH MUSIC & CULTURAL FESTIVAL organized by the Irish Association of Spain (Málaga).
• PARAPANDA INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL 1999, 2006 and 2015.
• Rock Zaidín Festival (Granada) 2000, 2016.
• I Folk Music Festival of Navelgas (Asturias).
• XVIII SEGOVIA FOLK FESTIVAL 2006.
• Tarragona Guitar Festival 2009.
• Mediterranean Olympic Games (Almería).
• International Congress of Ireland (Irish Embassy in Spain).
• XVI edition of the Tendencias Festival in Salobreña (Granada).
• Television program "La Noche se Mueve" on Canal Sur.
• etc.
*Interfolk Magazine nº 15 - 2003: AMBULANCIA IRLANDESA, "Cardio-musical resuscitation, a good sample of ideas to contribute to folk sonorities".
*Interfolk Magazine nº 29 - 2005: BADULAQUE ZOO, "Change of skin. In this album we will find everything and of excellent quality: folk, jazz, flamenco, rock, blues, Balkan music... Complex, varied and surely controversial, but interesting in any case".
*Mondo Sonoro Magazine - 2006: EL CARNAVAL DE LOS GATOS, "...work that takes the group's evolution to the limits of fusion, breaking the boundaries of folk to expand them, without leaving the terrain".

Artist Statement

In a world torn apart by conflicts, this song emerges as a cry for peace. Through poetic and emotional metaphors, we explore the pain and loss caused by war. Images of stars in the sky contrast with the darkness of violence, symbolizing hope that persists even in the darkest moments. The final kiss represents both love and tragedy, reminding us of the human cost of armed conflicts. This work is a call for reflection and action, urging everyone to seek peaceful alternatives and to value life above differences
