Bagwis Sa Alon (Wings of the Wetlands)
In the rural province of Pampanga, an elusive bird known as the Philippine Duck (Anas Luzonica) is being hunted down for more than two decades. Alias ‘Apo,’ who’s one of the oldest bird hunters in the Philippines, tells his stories on how farmers like him killed thousands of the endemic bird. As their population in the wild dwindles today, the provincial government, and conservationists spearhead efforts and implement existing laws to protect their species. However, resident farmers claim that the Philippine Ducks are pests to the farmlands.
