Director Statement

I recently became a first-time mother. This is my story, a story with a conclusion that I am still unsure about.

The only equipment used was one camera and two tube lights.

The only crew was one person, my husband.

The voices of the two mothers are the voices of our actual mothers.

The baby in the film is our newborn. Every day I eagerly wonder, when she's old enough, what will she have to say about all of this. Not just about this short film, but about this complicated world.

I wrote and directed Baby Something from a vulnerable place, wondering if any other mothers would relate. Afraid of judgement from those who won't, but touched by those who already have.
