Javad Zaki Shams-Abadi is a singer, composer, and music arranger in Iran, known as Zaki Shams-Abadi or Zaki Shams. He was born in Shahr-e-Rey, Tehran. He started learning music with singing in a choir and then playing the electronic keyboard. At the age of 11, he initiated his music career with learning the basics of music playing the keyboard and piano in the classic style. After learning to play the piano, he managed to perform on stage after two years. Over the years, he has been playing brass instruments and the guitar in addition to signing, and during his compulsory military service, he taught brass instruments to others. After finishing the military service, he graduated from university majoring in Fluids Mechanical Engineering. Besides working as an engineer, he had great musicians such as Dr. Dibazar, Lotfi, Khalatbari and Pazooki as his teachers. These activities resulted in the creation of the album “Rajaz” in 2007, in which this singer, working as the composer and arranger, released the song into the music market; he collaborated with well-known songwriters Yaghma Golrouee and Bahman Mohammadzadeh in this album. This album was recorded in “Ava Pendar” studio, managed, mixed and mastered by Reza Beigi.
He collaborated with Toyjan Niyazi in 2010. This album is recorded, mixed and mastered by the Pro Tools workstation and its quality is as high as fine international Pop music works. The performance of instruments is also at a high level because it was done by professional Turkish musicians. This led to the creation of the single “Delvapasi”, composed by Javad Zaki Shams-Abadi and written by Bahman Mohammadzadeh, which was recorded in “Gondoom” studio in Turkey.
Later, he collaborated with Puzzle Band; the result was the production of a few singles and an album (Be To Mashhooram). In this album, all the songs were arranged and some of them were composed by Puzzle Band. Unfortunately, this collaboration was a backslide in Zaki Shams-Abadi’s music career.
Moreover, from 2010 to 2014, another album, with melodies from Amirali Zamaniyan and music from Mehran Abbasi, was left unfinished due to Mehran Abbasi’s emigration and failing to fulfill his obligations. The result was the release of only a few songs.
Since then, Zaki Shams-Abadi has done the music production and management of all his sings himself; he collaborates with Edris Rezaee and Behnam Mirzaei in music arrangement; he has also produced a few songs in collaboration with young songwriters, like Arshad in the track “Ba To”.
Over the years, he has worked with first-rate songwriters, such as Hadi Zinati, Mohsen Shirali, Ali Bahreyni, Mahdiyeh Arab, Mahshad Arab, Bahman Mohammadzadeh, Niloofar Mansoori and Nima Ebrahimi.
An important thing about Zaki Sham-Abadi’s music career is that throughout all these years, he has been an independent artist working hard as a self-employed musician and not working with any music producers.
