BODYMOD
Produced by Hannah Bellil
BODYMOD is a short film about transhumanism and the novelty of body modification. Set in the distant future, where the idea of a higher power is widely understood, Gideon, Gamma and Genesis, undergo an intense procedure that involves them having to design their own bodies. The excitement of upgrading one's self sends them on an anatomic selection frenzy, only to realise soon after that the procedure will be irreversible. Their willingness to change is tested to extremes. Psychological and desperate measures surface. BODYMOD touches on the concepts of permanence, creative anxiety and perhaps what God must have felt when he created us.
