BLACK LOBBY – How the right-wing extremists influence Italian politics from the shadows

Backstair, the Fanpage.it’s undercover investigative unit, exposed a group of right-wing extremists influencing Italian conservative politics from the shadows. This video investigation, published in October 2021, forced the Italian right to deal with its nostalgic past and with a system going on for years. In which favors are exchanged, power seats are influenced, and black money circulates.


In Milan, far from the political spotlight, a group of freemasons, former soldiers, and businessmen feeling nostalgic for fascism have influenced political appointments and policy-making within Italy’s mainstream right-wing parties for years. This "Black Lobby" mobilizes votes for the more mainstream Lega (League) and Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy), bestowing favors that they expect will be reciprocated.
