A Musical Epic of Bharat

This is a very difrent type of project, exclusively filmed by a crew of 30 members for continuously 15 days, during staging of this unique Ramleela, being enacted every year on an open street of Bissau, a small town in Jhunjhunu District of Rajasthan, India, since 1857, as its roots are embedded in the first freedom struggle of India.
As no artist speaks any dialogue, hence it's called "Bissau Ki Mook Ramleela" or the "Silent Ramleela".
Singing of Choupaees and Dohas and in between narrative commentary from background describes the story of relevant events.
This Ramleela is staged by local ordinary citizens of Bissau, hence it can easily be called as the "Ramleela of the people, by the people and for the people."

7- "BISSAU KI MOOK RAMLEELA" (Hindi)

of Bissau, a village of Jhunjhunu District in Rajasthan, . since the year 1857. This
Ramleela has no dialogues by any of it's artists. Singing of Choupaees and Dohas
and in between commentary from background relate the story of relevant events

This lifeography film is based on the inspiring but roller-coaster life journey of
India's one of the prominent developers and builders in Reality Estate, Ashok G
Mohnani", fondly called as AGM.

Director Statement

For me, shooting of this live event during its staging for 15 days continuously on the open street, was a big challenge. I had deployed a crew of 30 dedicated personnel, 6 cameras, and one drone camera being supervised by DOP, so as to capture every single nuance of actors who are just ordinary citizens of Bissau town and not at all professional actors. All cameramen had to continuously keep running in the length of this 250 ft. long and 30 ft. wide street, surrounded by local spectators standing on all sides.
Having shot for more than 100 hours, it was another challenge to get edited and make a package of 70 min film, without compromising on the contents and storyline of Ramleela.
Suitable Voice over, music, songs and Choupaees / dohas were put in order in consultation with religious scholar. And all these efforts have borne fruit when this turned out to be a great project for me, which can be stated as "A Musical Epic of Bharat."
