Director Biography - Britney Giaccone-Wallace

Britney Giaccone-Wallace is a star athlete, stellar student, and ardent creator. The combination makes her a triple threat with a penchant for power moves, provocative ideas, and artistic excellence.

The Dallas native discovered her competitive skills early in life. Thanks to the devotion of her mother, Lana Giaccone, Britney was encouraged to turn a mild interest in basketball into a passion that led to All-star status in high school. As a teenager, Britney stretched her love of athleticism to include a coveted spot on the Jacksonville High School Varsity Cheerleading team.

Britney's multi-faceted skillset extended beyond the hardwood and football field and into the classroom. The well-rounded student maintained a 4.0-grade average which earned her Dean's List honors. She also made time (and still does) to give back to her community, dedicating hours to working with foster children and volunteering at rehabilitation centers in Austin, Texas.

Britney picked up her first camera when she was 21 years old. Her love of photography became her way of telling stories through art. Britney developed an innate skill to set a scene within photos, paying close attention to composition, symmetry, depth and foreground interest, perspective, and angles. Britney's pictures have been praised as a salute to light, contrast, and complex captures. Her images depict simple still life, professional headshots, abstract photography, cityscape photography, and candid shots.

At the age of 27, A random decision to take an over-the-counter DNA test set Britney on an uncharted path to discovery. The unexpected results changed her life forever. Britney, who was always searching for a connection and meaning as she coped with "daddy issues," was reunited with her biological father in an unexpected twist of fate. The experience inspired an interest in cinematography, where she set out to document her trip to meet her real father. Armed with an Apple iPhone and Canon camera, and a powerful desire to share her unforgettable story, the first-time filmmaker wrote, directed, and produced the documentary "Birthright: Finding the Missing Piece of Me."

Britney is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Psychology. She lives in Dallas and is the founder of photography company, b.captured.
