Though on the surface, birthdays are often filled with emotions of joy, excitement, and relief, a deeper introspection on the self can reveal a kink in these pre-held notions of someone’s special day. Below the commotion of birthday songs and party poppers is fleeting time and solitude.

This experimental film combines documentary and screendance elements to visualize the emotional culmination of having a birthday party while simultaneously considering the swell of antithetical emotion surrounding it.
