Director Biography - Lauri Karo

Lauri Karo is a rising filmmaker based in Tampere & Helsinki, Finland. His journey in the industry began early when, at just eleven years old, he starred as the lead in one of Finland’s most-watched films of the year, Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy. However, Karo soon discovered his passion for the other side of the camera. After exploring the world of photojournalism, he made his directorial debut with this film, BEEF OF HAPPINESS, which showcases a fresh slice of his unique vision. This autumn, the 24-year-old filmmaker is juggling short documentaries for Finland’s national broadcasting company while writing his next fiction project to life.
