Director Biography - Naphat Khunlam

Born on the 11 of August 2003 in Bangkok, and still lives in its northern part - neighborhood of Saphan Mai, in between the districts of Bang Khen and Sai Mai. Stuck between the urban and the suburb with no real border to define it.

I have always been interested in storytelling in any form such as writing or drawing since elementary school. I always take any chance I get to tell my story whether in my freetime, homeworks or school play, but the result always varies and many times it ends up as a failure, but I have always learned from my mistakes to make me better at storytelling and working. At the same time I started to learn about the arts of cinema, namely Jaws by Steven Spielberg. I have been appreciating the arts and learning more about it ever since, and it made me want to make a film myself in my own way.

I started storytelling in the form of video at the start of middle school by joining the movie editing club. Before making my first short film in the final year of middle school. In highschool I got more involved in the school’s video and still picture making activities, also I studied graphic design in this time too. Even though the Covid pandemic halted many of the work I could have made.

I love taking videos of the angles or corners of the world that I find beautiful. Sometimes I even find meaning and stories in those moving pictures. It always relaxes my mind from stress and anxiety, but still I find it's hard to speak or define it. So I used the knowledge to sew those angles and corners together.

Currently, I am studying at Bangkok University in the film department as I want to get connections and get myself into the industry but most importantly, I want to better myself.
