BC Teen Film Festival is a youth-led event that celebrates the creative projects and achievements by the youth. Our goal is to shine a light onto the wondrous imperfections of student films, the low-budget projects, because we know that they can be as special as any blockbuster movie.

Rules & Terms

Directors of submitted projects must be under the age of 20 years old before the event date.

    The festival came and passed with no word. I sent an email, no response. Apparently I was selected as a finalist as indicated on FilmFreeway, but I never heard a word from the festival. I don't think the festival was even held. As the submission was not free, I discourage other students from submitting.

    Dear Peer,
    Thank you for your email and for your participation in our recent competition. Since our team is based in British Columbia, we needed to gather feedback from the judges and review all details before responding to you.
    Both of your submissions were exceptionally well done, and we sincerely appreciate the effort and creativity you invested. After careful evaluation by our six judges, we regret to inform you that while your projects are outstanding, they were not selected as 1st place winners for awards this year. As a result, we did not provide further updates at this time.
    Due to lower-than-expected attendance at this year’s awards ceremony, we have decided to hold the event online. However, we are already planning for the next competition, which will open for submissions in ‌January 2026‌. We would be delighted to invite you to participate again. We believe you will have excellent projects to share with us.
