BBISFF's 2019 EDITION ONLY ACCEPTS ROMANIAN SHORT FILMS SUBMISSIONS
BigBang International Short Film Festival is an event that aims to demonstrate the thematic and fully completed cinematic suggestions through the cinematic style of the short film. A short film can demonstrate quickly, flexibly, in a condensed way and with an unshakeable point of view important issues of global interest and it does that with freshness, youthfulness and boldness.
It is organized by t-shOrt (www.t-short.gr) and it is hosted on the website www.shortfilm.gr, the only and largest website for short films in Greece. The Greek production company t-shOrt passionately supports short films and everything concerning their production, promotion and distribution. It seeks to promote new talents, creators and artists who love short films and express themselves through them. It emphasizes on films that deviate from established standards and films that have a special and personal way of expression. The company's involvement in the short film goes back to 2001, while the involvement of its founder and art director, Kyriakos Chatzimichailidis - director and producer – goes back to 1990 (twenty-five years devotion to short films).
The festival will take place in two phases - periods. First the classic festal organization of screenings in a movie theatre and then the online screenings for audience award.
The goal of BigBang International Short Film Festival for 2019 is the focus on the Romanian Micro Cinema through the screenings of short films by Romanian creators.
Like every year the event contains a special 2-hour thematic tribute. The theme for 2019 will be "Health".
The festival is organized by t-shOrt in cooperation with the Short Film Festival of Drama and supported by the Embassy of Romania in Athens and the Hellenic Foundation for Culture and Federation of Greek Cinema Clubs (F.G.C.C.)
The best films that will be selected from the judging committee for the following awads, will receive their prize of a Pan-Hellenic distribution by the Federation of Greek Cinema Clubs (F.G.C.C.) (oklegr.blogspot.com)
There are more than 20 Halls of the Federation of Greek Cinema Clubs (F.G.C.C.) scattered all over Greece.
Distribution will be of a commercial nature and the award-winning films will participate in any profits generated by this process. The number of Halls and the financial conditions and terms will be announced in October 2019, as this is the period that the Halls schedule their screen program for the 2019-2020 season and they are then in a position to set their timetable for promotion and their financial conditions.
