BALØ
"He said, she said. Your word versus mine.” During our political, social and economic climate, it’s not uncommon to entertain a back and forth dialogue between stories told by friends and strangers. In the film, Balo, the alternating chatter is at its’ climax. It begins with a favor exchanged between two friends that has taken an unforeseen turn at a party, expected to be like any other night. Those who attended the party interpret the situation with their own points-of-view, exaggerate their side of the story and thus partake in a game of telephone. Throughout the film, a variety of mixed languages are spoken to emphasize our contribution to society and how history is in the fate of our own hands, own cultures and own perspectives. What happened to Balo? Ask a friend.

We fight, we love, we fail to understand it all, but we still here. Regardless of our languages, color of skin or beliefs, we all have a story that needs to be told. Love to be here, love to be yourself.
