BACKCAGE

BACKCAGE is an afrofuturistic - black - queer - experimental author short film. It is dense with precise placements of references from black culture. A musically fantastic horror space trip that turns concepts of time upside down and leaves room for associations.

Director Biography - Zainab Lascandri

Zainab Lascandri is a parent, low class, Black interdisciplinary artist who balances between pop culture and elite art. She tirelessly leaves her traces. Whether in theatre, film, music, performance, installations or art. The boundaries of her works become blurred, categories are deconstructed and rearranged. She works mostly collectively and rarely solo. Her intersectional space of thought and actions, allows her to flow into every barely noticeable gap.
