Axon, Identity and limitless Memory
Axon is an algorithm based art project that explores visual patterning evolving through coincidence and imperfection by being in a constant state of renewal and development. Inspired by collective connectivity in human relationships, these movements of sequencing visually represent an abstraction of identity and memory in motion. All creations are a reflection of its creator, and the machine simulates human behavior in its process. The interactive, cooperative nature between humans creates a hive-like dynamic that I am interested in.
Based on these findings, Axon explores human-technology in correlation within the digital realm. This reveals a visual syntax defined by movement at high levels of intensity as the interconnections of a community shift rapidly. My artwork reflects on these collective environments through a collaborative effort. Inspired by the exploration of these materials, I share my creative process with artificial intelligence, allowing the spontaneous and flawed to happen without any rules. Through my exclusive approach, an intuitive narrative forms to exist in constant symbiosis with an algorithm.

Nero Cosmos is a conceptual and visual artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. He experiments with artificial intelligence, creating images and videos that are in a constant state of metamorphosis, focusing on ideas of perception and transformation using machine learning techniques. His work allows him to explore the reciprocal relationship between humans and machines, and how consciousness changes in the digital space and affects daily life, inviting the viewer to see the world through the eyes of a machine.
Nero is a studio member of playform (artificial intelligence hub). Nero has exhibited his work not only in Switzerland but also internationally, mainly in Asia. He graduated in design technology from the Zurich University of the Arts.
Nero Cosmos is an artist, who invites the viewer to see the world through the eyes of a machine. His work focuses on ideas of perception and transformation through Artificial Intelligence. Interested in how consciousness changes in digital space and affects daily life, Nero Cosmos uses data collection, machine learning techniques and algorithms through Generative Adversarial Networks to create images and videos in a constant state of metamorphosis. Inspired by the aesthetics of life forms and solid structures reflected in the digital realm, his artwork combines a large quantity of image and video based sources.
Due to the training of the Generative Adversarial Networks model, the artist loses temporarily control as the algorithm takes over the creative process. The machine and the artist are intentionally forced to collaborate and exist in constant symbiosis.
Consequently, the unpredictability of artificial intelligence generates results influenced by technology and brain-constructed reality, breaking the viewer’s perception into a multitude of possibilities. The more images involved, the more spontaneous the results. Through visualizations of these outcomes, Nero Cosmos creates work that mediates between a real and an abstract world, seemingly creating threads of logical patterning in the midst of random and chance.
