A visit from a bird
A visit from a bird is a film essay that arises from a process of grief, an exploration of the search for presence from absence. It focuses on the close observation of the birds that inhabit the Seville landscape, filming the empty spaces, the gestures and the environment that accompany me after the loss. The material goes through four scenarios: observation, migration, mourning and bird ringing, creating a framework that allows me to order and reflect on what I have filmed.

Seville, 1996. I work with images, sounds and words. I focus my research on everyday environments: landscapes, empty spaces, silences and gestures, through devices with which I involve myself in an oscillating game between the physiological and the manual: the device-body. I’m a member of Hyksos, an Andalusian participatory film collective. My work has been shown at (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico, Íntima Fest, Mostra Films de Dones and Alcances Festival Cine Documental. I’m currently studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam).
