Avanza

Set in a distant land, "Avanza" follows a mother whose fallen behind on the path to catching up to her migrating family. On her path, she accidentally falls into an underground world, full of danger and mystery. Through trial, tribulation and with help, she must find her way back to her family.

Director Biography - Andy Isaiah Ramos

Throughout my journey as an animator, I have been given the chance to explore and learn about several animation programs as well as compositing and editing software. With these tools and my experience over 4 years, I have been able to build a portfolio that expresses several mediums of animation.

I am currently working towards my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation and VFX. I have worked in both traditional and digital art mediums, from working as a commissioned artist designing a variety of digital logos and artworks to working as an art designer for a theater production, producing several set pieces and props. In both of these instances, I work closely with my clients and heavily communicate with them to meet their needs and their vision. These jobs require thorough research, efficient communication skills, competency with deadlines, as well as an open mind in the creative process.

Director Statement

This story was made from a love for all things stop motion as well as a testament to my childhood and awe of nature. The process of drafting this simple yet sweet and charming film as well as the process of collaborating with my own family to make this was a beautiful journey on its own, and I'm glad to share that peace of simple fun with others.
