Thus begins the letter of a suffering girl, who quickly writes in the bathroom as if there is no more time.
«You tore my soul apart», he says, «That damn night I met you».
What led these two guys, so in love with each other, to write these words?
The enveloping force of love, initially sweet and warm, has turned into a whirlwind of pain and anger, of grudges and fears, of illusion, and perhaps even of madness. It is precisely for this reason that the two protagonists of this short film find themselves forced to write a letter to each other, they seek a solution among those words that they hope will be the answer that one so much sought from the other. Autumn Leaves is a human story, a story of a boy and a girl who let themselves be dragged into a whirlwind of uncontrollable emotions until they became convinced that being together is enough to feel good, completely externalizing themselves from society. The making of this short film is the result of a series of reflections by the authors, who want to make it known that this type of reality is unfortunately common to many young people. The tragic outcome of the film represents the last fatal act that an unhealthy type of relationship like this can lead to. But these relationships between young people are absolutely not to be considered as remote possibilities since the world in which teenagers approach each other today, characterized by a strong social outreach especially thanks to the vast use of the web, leads them to consider only the relationships that they consider important vital, ignoring everything around them other than that line they draw between themselves and the person they want to be with.
This film therefore has a real objective, which is to highlight the exact point in which a relationship can turn into something dangerous: the union created by the use of toxic drugs, infidelity and the consequent lack of mutual respect.

«Coniglietta… così mi chiamavi mentre mi arruffavi i capelli».
Inizia così la lettera di una ragazza sofferente, che scrive velocemente in bagno come se non ci fosse più tempo.
«Mi hai divorato l’anima», dice invece lui, «Maledetta la sera che ti ho incontrata».
Cosa ha portato questi due ragazzi, così innamorati l’un l’altro, a scrivere queste parole? La forza avvolgente dell’amore, dapprima dolce e calda, si è tramutata in un turbine di dolore e rabbia, di rancori e paure, di illusione, e forse anche di pazzia. È proprio per questo che i due protagonisti di questo cortometraggio si trovano costretti a scriversi una lettera a vicenda, cercano una soluzione tra quelle parole che sperano essere la risposta che l’uno tanto cercava dall’altra. Foglie d’autunno è una storia umana, una storia di un ragazzo e di una ragazza che si sono fatti trascinare in un vortice di emozioni incontrollabili fino a diventare convinti che sia sufficiente stare insieme per stare bene, esternandosi completamente dalla società. La realizzazione di questo cortometraggio è frutto di una serie di riflessioni, da parte degli autori, i quali vogliono rendere noto che questo tipo di realtà è purtroppo comune a molti giovani. L’esito tragico del film rappresenta l’ultimo fatale atto a cui un tipo di relazione malsana come questa può portare. Ma questi rapporti tra ragazzi non sono assolutamente da considerare come possibilità remote in quanto il mondo in cui i giovani si approcciano oggi, caratterizzato da una forte esternazione sociale soprattutto grazie al vasto utilizzo della rete, li porta a considerare importanti solo le relazioni che loro considerano vitali, ignorando tutto ciò che li circonda oltre a quella linea che tracciano tra loro e la persona con cui vogliono stare. Questo film ha quindi un obiettivo reale, ovvero quello di evidenziare il punto esatto in cui una relazione si può tramutare in un qualcosa di pericoloso: il connubio creato dall’utilizzo di sostanze tossiche stupefacenti, l’infedeltà e la conseguente mancanza di rispetto reciproco.
