Autism as a gift

The documentary Autism as a gift is a sensitive testimony from the parents of a nine-year-old autistic boy Ángel. They look at their son´s "disability" or "peculiarity" from a different perspective than most of the society, to them it is a gift. Opportunity for self-knowledge and self-education. Ángel is their inspiration and a great teacher. Many volunteers go to their house to spend time with Ángel based on the principles of the Son-Rise Program®. It is a method that is not so well known and widespread in the Czech Republic. Its goal is not to draw an autistic child into our world, but rather to join his own world first. As his parents and volunteers dive into his mysterious autistic world, Ángel slowly opens the gate and enters into our world in return. Everyone agrees that Ángel has a sixth sense that reveals the inner wounds of everyone who works with him. We can ask ourselves who is the person affected and who is a volunteer? Who helps whom? Is it Ángel or the person who is with him in the room?
