Australia Burning
The record bushfire season in Australia, caused by a perfect storm of variable weather patterns and climate change, has claimed the lives of more than 30 people, destroyed tens of millions of acres of land, and devastated the country’s wildlife. People who live there are still sorting through the rubble, trying to rebuild despite all the uncertainties the future holds. The ensuing damage has prompted new conversations about how Australian land should be managed. Meanwhile, even after all that they have experienced this hellish year, many Australians remain climate change skeptics. MyRadar special correspondent Miles O’Brien takes us to the front lines of the fires down under.
