Auryn Rotten is a Director-Producer based in Melbourne, Australia. She has worked for 15 years in the screen industry both in the commercial and corporate sectors. She has created video content across a range of distribution platforms. Her experience spans broadcast television, feature length documentaries, social media channels, music videos, advertising campaigns, short films, live event coverage, and online classroom content. Auryn has Produced and Directed for clients such as, Sony Music Entertainment Australia, MTV, Disney, TEDxSydney. Currently, she is producing educational video content for the University of Melbourne. She has recently completed her Master of Creative Industries with SAE Qantm by submission of the film, Battle of Gaman, and accompanying exegesis in performance autoethnographic research. Her films are designed as experiences; blurring the lines between artist, audience and artwork are a motif of seeking intersubjectivity through her work. Her exploration of VR, AR, MR, XR has extended to prototyping a VR video editing program in Unity. Auryn would like to align her screen industry career, with her practice-led research, to reimagine educational video formats. Auryn creatively produces under the name, Chic.Xu.Lub, where she will continue to develop her projects, both in exhibition spaces, and in arthouse and queer cinema.
