Director Biography - Georg Blume

Georg Blume, was born in 1982 as the son of a Spanish mother and a Dutch father.
After he graduated from high school in 2000, he began his social and cultural anthropology studies as well as international development studies at the university of Vienna.
During this time, he traveled to India, Nicaragua, and again Costa Rica, Mexico.
In the course of his studies, he directed several documentaries and did some photography work, some of which was published in the “Wiener Zeitung.”
In 2009 he graduated as an actor of honors from the state paraplegic stage exam.
From 2011 to 2013 he was a member of the ensemble at the “Theater in der Josefstadt”
During that time, he also worked as a playwright and director of independent theater plays and short films, as well as theater pedagogue and acting coach for the Viennese children and youth theater.
In 2010 he opened a recording studio with his business partner Peter Schöffer and produced various productions as a media composer and music producer.
In addition to film scores for short films, commercial productions, jingles etc. he also worked on music albums for artists, including the album Here Comes Everything by his sister Clara Blume.
In 2014, together with his partner Schöffer and cousin Nico Oberlik, he founded Dockyard GmbH, which initially focused on the rebuilding of a film studio in Vienna, before turning into an autonomous production agency for commercials.
In his position as Managing Director and Head of Creative, he developed and produced numerous spots, campaigns and image films and has directed more than 100 productions.
In 2019 Dockyard integrated its long-time partners and suppliers of animation content Marcos Medvedov and Andreina Diaz Beltran and expanded into a small business with 10 employees.
